#Nvidia dds plugin photoshop how to#
Just follow the steps below to learn how to download and install GIMP DDS plugin. To work with Direct Draw Surface (DDS) files, you have to install a GIMP DDS plugin first. GIMP doesn’t support DDS file format by default. Ouvrir un fichier DDS sur Photoshop Le liens vers le site. I'm not finding a heck of a lot of info on Texture arrays in a DDS file so any help is welcome. The NVIDIA Texture Tools Exporter allows users to create highly compressed texture files - that stay small both on disk and in memory - directly from image sources using NVIDIA’s CUDA-accelerated Texture Tools 3.0 compressor technology. But I'm having no luck getting my Ps saved DDS file to match up to the original loaded DDS. I'm pretty sure the Format is correct "BC7 RGBA 8 bpp explicit Alpha" as all the other assets I've inspected for albedo are BC7 also. Since these are texture arrays (vary from 10 x 10 to 14 x 14) but each texture is 360 x 360 pixels. I've tried opening the original DDS with and without mipmaps and generating MIPS on save but the file size never matches up. My basic process to try and figure out what export format to use is by loading the original DDS, may NO modifications, and do a "save as" in Ps and then select from the Nvidia plugin options and try to get the exact same file size (binary compare match). I'm trying to replicate a DDS format that contains texture arrays but I'm unable to obtain the same format and file size as the original when using Photoshop and Nvidia's DDS plugin for Ps.
